Meet Our School Nurse

Mrs. Teresa Garrett is the nurse of South Tattnall Elementary, formerly Glennville Elementary School. As the healthcare provider for the campus, Nurse Garrett diligently works with staff and the parents to ensure the students receive the best medical care available during school hours. Through these partnerships, Nurse Garrett has built a positive and supportive environment that allows the students to feel comfortable and confident in the care received from their school nurse. Over the 21 years that Nurse Garrett has been the nurse of the Glennville campus, she has always kept her students' health care needs first. Her love of caring for others goes beyond her 21 years as a nurse but instead started prior to this when she began her role as a caregiver to the residents of the Tattnall Evans Manor and Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, GA. Her passion for helping others led her to obtain her nursing degree and licensure in Nursing in 1999. Since then, she has been caring for the students at South Tattnall Elementary School (GES).

School based Health Center (SBHC), utilizing Telemedicine to access physicians, is available at your child’s school. The School-Based Collaborative Healthcare Center’s primary focus is to provide quality, accessible health care to the children and staff of Tattnall County Schools. All students have access to the school based health center and its services.

Services offered in the SBHC include care for acute illnesses, minor injuries, management and ongoing care of existing medical conditions, monthly medication management/medication maintenance and mental health, substance abuse, and family centered case management.
