K-2nd Discipline Policy

Discipline Policy

Level 1 – no administrative involvement required

    • Out of designated area
    • Physical/verbal disruptions
    • Noncompliance
    • Minor verbal aggression
      • Level 1 consequence: verbal warning and 10 minutes walk time
    • Level 2 – chronic level 1 behaviors
      • Chronic noncompliance
      • Verbal aggression to peers / dishonesty
      • Minor physical aggression to peers
        • Level 2 consequence: removal from the Physical Education setting, with administrative approval, to ISS room for the duration of the P.E. period.
      • Level 3 – behaviors that require administrative involvement
        • Serious physical aggression / bullying
        • Possession of banned items
        • Verbal / Physical aggression to school staff
          • Level 3 consequence: Office referral

 *Proper athletic shoes are encouraged but not mandatory.

3rd-5th Grading and Discipline Policy

Physical Education grading policy and discipline plan (3-5):

Grading Policy

All students begin each nine week period with a grade of 100.  If a student fails to participate in a physical education activity, 2 points will be deducted from his/her grade.  Example:  a student fails to participate three times in a nine week period – a total deduction of 6 points is given, resulting in a nine weeks final grade of 94.  

If a doctor/parent note is presented to the P.E. teachers due to illness/injury, points will NOT be deducted from that student’s grade.
